Quilting Book Author Susan Beal at Bobbin's Nest!!!

We are so excited to tell you that on Thursday, May 19, the lovely Susan Beal will be visiting us here at Bobbin's Nest for a book signing and log cabin block-making party! Susan is the author of the recently released Modern Log Cabin Quilting book you may have seen around the internet.
From the Publisher:
"If you think quilting is too difficult or too complicated, you’re not alone. Cutting hundreds of pieces and joining angled seams can be tough work! But log cabin quilting—an artful and simple way to piece strips of fabric around a central square—is different. From the intuitive construction through the straight-line stitching, this style of quilting is simple as can be.

In Modern Log Cabin Quilting, Susan Beal outlines the entire process from start to finish, including basic quilting how-to as well as extensive design, fabric, and embellishment information. Since all log cabin designs follow the same formula, once you master straight lines and right angles, any of the 25 projects in this book are possible. From stash-friendly designs like the Charming Camera Case to more ambitious undertakings like the Vintage Linens Quilt, there’s sure to be a project that will get you into (or bring you back to) quilting!"

Susan herself is a sweetheart, and she's totally excited about getting all of you sewing log cabin blocks! Susan will be available to sign books, show you the samples she made for the book, and help out with your sewing -- we'll provide everything you'll need to sew your own log cabin block, including a free log cabin block fabric kit (while they last)!

This is a gorgeous book that we're sure you'll want to own. We now have this book in stock, and if you buy your copy from us before May 19, we'll give you 20% off the regular price! (all books purchased at the event will be regularly-priced).

So, stop by the shop and pick up a copy today, and make plans for May 19 to come meet Susan, enjoy a few refreshments on us, and sew up a log cabin block. Oh, and stay tuned to the blog between now and May 19, because we'll be showing you several projects that we're making from this book ourselves!
