Maria did a fabulous job with these, using one of my favorite lines of fabric in the shop right now -- Metro Cafe from Robert Kaufman.
The napkin has just one rectangular log cabin block stitched near the corner.
And the coaster is a single log cabin block, bound like a tiny quilt.
Maria said that she liked making these and that putting together the little log cabin blocks was a piece of cake!
Susan Beal, the author of Modern Log Cabin Quilting, will be joining us at Bobbin's Nest Studio for a book signing and quilting event on Thursday, May 19 from 5-8pm. We'll have free log cabin kits for attendees (while supplies last!) and sewing machines set up for you to try your hand at making a log cabin block. Susan is excited to meet everyone and share her love of log cabin quilting, so plan to stop by for a few refreshments and to make your own block! Full details in our previous blog post.
Susan's Modern Log Cabin Quilting is available now at Bobbin's Nest for
20% off the regular price through May 18,
so pick up your copy in advance of the event!
