Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

We're participating in Sew Mama Sew's blog Giveaway Day! From today through December 6th you have the opportunity to win great handmade items or supplies to make your own goodies just by commenting on the listed participant's blogs! What could be easier?

What is the Nest giving away? A bag containing "The Best of the Nest": one skein of our Bobbin's Nest Studio colorway Hazel Knit's Artisan sock yarn, a copy of "When Bad Things Happen to Good Knitters", an Amy Butler "Stash and Dash Bags" sewing pattern, a yard of fabric (you get to choose the color, we pick the pattern), and a Sublime Stitching "Craft Pad."

Our giveaway is simple and the winner will be chosen at random. Comment on this blog post with an answer to these two questions:

1. Knitter, Crocheter, Seamster, Embroiderer, or combination crafter?
2. Favorite yarn dyer and/or sewing pattern designer?

We will not ship internationally, but we are happy to ship to the winner in the United States.

Hi there - I'm a brand stinking new combination crafter just learning to knit.... if I can stretch the meaning of "learning" to include making a complete mess of things whilst trying to decipher diagrams. :D Since I'm new, I don't have a lot of exposure to pattern designers, but I like the end results of Amy Butler patterns, even if the instructions are sometimes a bit... well, "obscure." :D Thanks for participating!

I'm a sewer and aspire to knit and crochet more. I tend to make up my own designs more than use patterns. I do get inspiration from Amy Karol, and Soule Mama, and JCasa and a host of other bloggers. Thanks for hosting a giveaway. Happy Holidays :)

I'll try almost anything. My (currently) unfinished objects include several quilts, a pair of pyjama pants, an embroidered pillow, an embroidered tea cozy, and a knitted hot water bottle cozy. I like making up my patterns as I go.

I'm mainly a knitter whose knitting time is being taken over more and more by sewing. Current favorite designer is Nicky Epstein, but it changes with the seasons. :)

Combination. I knit, crochet, sew and basically screw around so my craft collection is threatening to swallow me.

2. Favorite yarn dyer and/or sewing pattern designer?
Hmm... I dunno about yarn dyer. My friend dyed some really pretty purple cotton for me. And I've dyed some yarn before too and I really like me. I'm kinda my favorite. Sewing pattern designer is also undecided. I'm too new to have a favorite. I just like to cruise etsy for unique patterns.

I'm a knitter! My favorite fiber artist lately is Juno Fiber Arts (an independent gal in England). But as for knitwear designers, I always love Debbie Bliss and there's a studio in Paris-- La Droguerie-- that creates patterns that I LOVE!

I'm a combo crafter who is just getting into knitting. I love the yarns from Rolling Knolls Farm, a local (to me)farm. Patterns I love come from Amy Butler, Oliver and S. I also love the wealth of free patterns on other crafter's blogs, especially Soule Mama and JCasa Handemade and Ravelry.

Combination crafter and new to knitting, but loving it. Because I'm so new, I'd have to say that my favorite "pattern designer" is my aunt. She knits constantly and is such a pro... she is a wonderful teacher and is passionate about her craft!

I dabble in all things crafting, but seem to never master any because my interests (and time) are so divided between all. I love Amy Butler patterns (and fabric!).

I am a combination crafter, but a beginner at all elements. I do not have a favorite, but I can easily get distracted by all the wonderful yarn out there and patterns too.

I am a combination crafter, but try to limited myself to only one craft at a tim or nothing gets done! I don't really have a favorite designer it's more a case by case basis.

I'm a combo crafter, with knitting, sewing, and embroidery. I can crochet, but don't like it as much as knitting. Favorite designers are probably Cookie A and Pam Allen. Cookie is lots of fun, and Pam is really wearable. Thanks for the chance to win!

These days I am a knitter, perhaps I will get back into sewing when I have a place to leave it all out set up! My favorite designer is Ysolda Teague.

I'm a pretty experienced knitter, getting into sewing. I used to embroider when I was little but gave up becasue until recently there wasn't much inspiring, but Sublime Stitching is piquing my interest.

My favorite yarn dyer is Sundara! I enjoy playing around on the burdastyle site but it's too advanced for me.

1- definitely a knitter, but sometimes I like to dabble- but first love is for sure knitting.
2- yarn dyer- that would be hard. I just worked with Lorna's Laces and the colors were lovely... but I would say this decision is still a work in progress!

Nice giveaway! I do it all. Knit, crochet, sew, embroider, quilt...if it can be made, I'll try to make it. My favorite pattern designer is me. I'm the only one out there with my fit in mind.:)

I guess I'm a combo-crafter; I crochet and sew and quilt and sometimes embroider. I also scrapbook!

I don't have one favorite yarn dyer or sewing pattern designer, but I do enjoy all the creativity that you can find on the web these days. Blogs have become my lifeline to see what other crafty folks are doing and to get new ideas.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Combination Crafter!

Mostly doing Crochet right now and I've really been into snowflakes...No opinions on thread or patterns, I like trying everything. :)

Happy Thursday!

Kelli said...

I mainly sew both clothing and quilts, but am picking up knitting and a little crochet here and there. I used to cross stitch all the time, but seem to have lost my love for it and while I think I want to do embroidery, my heart knows it is too much like cross stitch and so I haven't picked up my needles to do it yet!
I don't have a favorite designer/company because 1. I'm cheap and buy what's on sale.... 2. I love variety and I don't care where/who it's from as long as I like it!
Thanks!

Definitely a combination crafter, I love to try anything, but mostly I knit and sew, however I have been itching to get back to embroidery soon too. I don't have a specific designer but I almost like finding indie designers online than big names. Lovely giveaway!
