In which we learn to embroider...

Embroidery isn't difficult, tedious, 'granny-esque', boring, or ugly; However, it's a beautiful art that is often overlooked or passed up for knitting, crochet, or sewing and has been used for both utilitarian needs. Basic hand embroidery can emphasize basic stitching, embellish your sewing projects (eg: add a little flower border to the bottom of your first sewn skirt!) without taking days to complete.

In the shop we carry a few wonderful hand embroidery kits from Sublime Stitching, kits of embroidery floss, needles, hoops and other accessories to make your voyage into hand embroidery a smooth one.

Next month we will begin adding beginners embroidery classes to our roster, but to tide you over until then I've gathered some links for you to peruse and hopefully persuade you to give this often forgotten art a shot. ;)
